Helm on the Allegheny was designed and built with both our residents and the environment in mind. That’s why we’re proud to have been awarded LEED® Gold, as well as to employing building management protocols that have also seen Helm on the Allegheny awarded the WELL Health and Safety certification. Pursuit of these two certifications through respected international sustainability rating systems highlights our dedication ensuring that our buildings are healthy and safe for all.
LEED® Goldcertification signifies attention paid to the building and construction process’ effect on the ecology and environment. You’ll notice plumbing and lighting fixtures designed to use 30 percent or less water and electricity than standard products. We’re also a 100 percent non-smoking facility. What you can’t see, is the remediation of a former brownfield, a white roof to reduce the heat island effect found in urban areas, and rainwater mitigation to keep runoff from our neighbor, the Allegheny River.
WELL Health Safety Rated
The WELL Health - Safety rating provides you the peace of mind that the building is managed in a healthy and safe way. The COVID-19 pandemic moved the WELL Building Institute to develop a program to designate those building operators that are aware of and have effective measures in place to prevent microbial spread, maximize the use of fresh outdoor air circulation, as well as use cleaning and disinfecting products that are safe for all who come in contact with them. These two programs combine to ensure Helm on the Allegheny is a safe and healthy place for anyone to call home for years to come.
